Sir Gawain and the Green Knight Sir Gawain and the Green Knight was written by an unknown author likely between 1375 and 1400. It is one of the greatest medieval poems ever composed. The passage that describes the fox hunt and the last day spent by Sir Gawain in the castle is profound to the entire poem.
